This year we got to have Thanksgiving dinner twice. :) I always like to buy my own turkey, even though we go to my Grandma's house for Thanksgiving dinner. I love to have the leftovers and try new things. This year we ended up having our turkey dinner earlier than normal (usually I do it around February). My dad was going to out of town in Iowa for Thanksgiving dinner so we did it at my house about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving so we could have it with him also. I made this turkey and I have to say - I love a golden brown turkey. So delicious! I also attempted to make my own stuffing from scratch - even drying my own bread. I was happy it turned out - I was pretty worried, but like I said I like to try something new each year. Dinner on Thanksgiving Day at my Grandma's was delicious as well!!! Fun times. :)
Then much to my surprise - Eric and the kids wanted to put up the Christmas tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I guess that is one of the benefits of having a prelit artificial tree. I protested that fake tree for a long time, throughout our whole marriage. But when I was pregnant with Andrew and Maegan wasn't quite two we went out in search of a Christmas tree at a local farm. It was the only day the entire of month of December that we could go. It was cold, rainy and very muddy. It was miserable. I had to carry Maegan through all the mud and rain while Eric took care of watching Matthew and cutting down the tree. That was the last year we had a real tree. Last year I caved and told Eric to go and get one at Costco. He didn't waste much time and ran out and got it before I changed my mind I think. lol The kids had a wonderful time decorating it and we get to enjoy it the whole month of December. I love sitting in the living room at night with all the lights off watching TV next to the glow of the tree. :) It makes me happy.

you have to take down the picture of the turkey. It Makes me Hungry
